I.     Welcome and Introductions of participants II.    Agenda review and Announcement of 2017 monthly meeting dates/locations Note the change in meeting location for all evening meetings to the Bayview Opera House. Daytime meetings will continue to be held at the Southeast Campus, Pitcher Room. III.  Review and update on new and pending pollution complaints Bradley Angel of Greenaction went over new complaints. Three complaints were filed around the same "bad/strange odor." I.     Welcome and Introductions of participants II.    Agenda review III.   Review new and pending pollution complaints The president of the Sunnyvale Tenants Association, Romonica Grayson, and resident, Ruby Markham, complained about the Housing Authorities failure to remedy major household mold issues for two years. This is especially serious as Markham is recovering from cancer. Many residents have asthma, including children. Karen Cohn of SF Department of Public Health offered to help and contact the Housing Authority’s lawyers in order to get action. I.     Update on Recent and Pending Pollution Complaints The issue of how to use 311.org for illegal dumping complaints was raised. Ian Schneider with the Department of Public Works (DPW) explained that the 311.org service takes in service requests and then directs them to the appropriate agency. Generally, Recology is responsible for larger items, and DPW is responsible for loose trash. In case of an emergency report, call 9-1-1. When filing a report online, non-anonymous reports are preferred, and reporters can upload photo and video. A 5-person problem-solver team reviews and assesses complaints and forwards them to the appropriate agencies.
